Buyantanshi

Buyantanshi is the name of the township of Kabwe, one of the provincial capitals of Zambia, where in 1998 the fi rst school for orphans, built on church ground, opened its doors.

Open

Open, not public, schools attended by children, who cannot afford the commonly high school fees. On top of that, these children do not need to wear school uniforms.

Christian

The motivation and the foundation of these schools is the Christian belief, based on the Bible.

Community

The respective community helps supporting the schools and contributes to construction and renovation work, for example.

Schools

Up until now, eight schools have been established, one of them in Kabwe downtown, and seven others in slum-like townships, calles „compounds“. More than 4.000 pupils attend the schools.
